Spring is right around the corner. Birds chirping, above zero temperatures (we hope), and the urge to update your home!
But where do you start and how do you know what will be the best use of your hard earned dollars?
According to Forbes, the top three things you can do to increase your home’s value are to:
- Update kitchens and bathrooms. These are the most used rooms in a home and tend to provide the most appeal to buyers.
- Prioritize curb appeal with landscaping. Replacing annual plants or flowers with perennials saves money in the long run, while strategically placed trees can reduce energy costs.
- Modify the floor plan or add square footage. This can include channeling your inner Chip Gains on demo day and knocking some walls down to give the open concept look so many are looking for. Or adding a bedroom, finishing a basement or converting an attic into living space.
Without a doubt, the upcoming North East Wyoming Contractors Association’s Home Show in Gillette March 16 and 17 will provide a starting point to gain ideas and find the resources needed.
