Google Analytics Gets Natural Language Processing Support With Machine Learning

Google Analytics now has the same natural language processing technology available in other Google apps such as Photos and Search, the Internet giant announced on Tuesday. That means you can now ask questions in plain English, which gets you answers quicker than before.

Depending on the question you ask, you will be presented with a number, rows, or a chart. As an example, the Analytics team suggests a question such as “How many new users did we have from organic search on mobile last week?” which will give you a number. If you ask the trend of session duration, expect the answer in a chart form as the image above.

Google Analytics Gets Natural Language Processing Support With Machine LearningThe feature becomes a part of Analytics Intelligence, which relies on machine learning to make sense of your analytics data. Analytics Intelligence will also help provide automated insights – now available on both Web and the app – alongside smart lists, smart goals, and session quality. Insights will also present specific recommendations to improve metrics, such as reducing load time to decrease bounce rate, and adding a new AdWords keyword to boost conversion rate.

To access the new questions feature and get automated insights, click the Intelligence button to open a side panel on the website, and tap the Intelligence icon in the top-right corner on the Google Analytics app for Android and iOS.

Google says the new features are now rolling out, and will be available in English to all Google Analytics users over the next few weeks.

How to Block Pop-Ups in UC Browser

If you’ve ever experienced the frustration of a pop-up flying across the screen while reading an article, you’ve probably wondered how to get rid of it. On mobile, it’s much more annoying, given pop-ups tend to take over the entire screen. With most modern browsers – like Google Chrome, UC Browser, Opera, and Firefox – you don’t have to worry, since they have a built-in pop-up blocker. This enables you to automatically prevent pop-up ads, although it’s not entirely foolproof. We looked at how different browsers handle pop-ups, and the most popular browser in India (just ahead of Chrome) is UC Browser.

UC Browser doesn’t have a standalone setting for blocking pop-ups. Instead, its ad-block function takes care of both ads and pop-ups. That’s bad for publishers (like us) who depend on the ads they serve, so if there’s a website you like, consider white-listing them.

Here’s how you can block pop-ups in UC Browser on Android and iOS. While UC Browser is the most popular browser in India – across desktop, mobile, and tablet combined – we’ve also written about Chrome, Firefox, and Opera, if you don’t use UC Browser.

How to block pop-ups in UC Browser (Android)

If you’d like to change the pop-up blocker setting on UC Browser for Android, follow these steps:

  1. Open UC Browser.
  2. Go to Settings from the quick menu on the bottom of the screen.
  3. Tap on Adblock.
  4. Toggle Adblock on.

  1. Open UC Browser.
  2. Go to Settings from the quick menu on the bottom of the screen.
  3. Tap on Adblock.

How to Download and Watch Amazon Prime Video Movies and TV Shows Offline

For film and TV buffs, the new age of streaming services in India is great, but poor connections can throw a spanner in the works. The good news is that most of the popular service allow you to download these videos to watch later. Whether you want to download a movie or show during the night to watch it the next day, or whether you want to download something to watch when you’re on a flight, the option is there for you.

We’ve written in the past about how to download videos on Netflix, and today, we’re going to walk you through the same process for Amazon Prime Video. The whole process is really simple, though there are a couple of things you need to know.

First off, you can only download the videos to your smartphone or tablet. It’s compatible with both Android and iOS, but you cannot download the videos to your laptop. Secondly, you can download a maximum of 15 Prime titles at a time – across all devices linked to your account. Finally, the downloads are viewable only for a limited period, after which you will have to renew the file by connecting to the Internet. This period varies from title to title.

With this in mind, here are the steps you need to follow to download videos from Amazon Prime Video on your Android or iOS device. The steps work in the same way on both.

  1. Connect your device to a Wi-Fi network and open the Prime Video app.
  2. In case you want to download the file over mobile data instead of Wi-Fi, first swipe in from the left and go to settings.
  3. Here, you will have to turn off Download on Wi-Fi only by tapping the toggle.
  4. Now, find the title you want to download and open the details page by tapping on it.
  5. On the detail page, you’ll see a Download button. Tap that to start downloading.
  6. You can now select the video quality – you have four options, from Best to Data Saver. Amazon shows how much space 1 hour of video will occupy at each level, so you know how much space you’ll need. For reference, at the top quality, 1 hour will take 0.46GB, while at the lowest quality, 1 hour will take 0.12GB.
  7. If you want, you can also scroll to the bottom and make the quality you chose the default setting.
  8. Now that the download has started, you’ll see a Pause Download button on the details page, to pause the download, and you’ll see a Download Options button.
  9. If you tap on Download Options, you can change the video quality, pause, or cancel the download by tapping on those options in the menu.
  10. Once the movie or TV show is downloaded, simply open the menu again and tap on Downloads to see a list of your downloaded videos, and tap on the file to go back to the detail page, where you can watch by tapping the Watch Now button, or remove the file.

The files you download can only be viewed using the Amazon Prime Video app of course, and are saved in a way to prevent you from copying them and viewing them elsewhere to prevent piracy.
