Tuscan panzanella also known as Panmolle is a classic bread salad. It is a cold salad of stale bread cubes where bread slices are soaked in olive oil, onion, tomato, vinegar and salt. It is very popular in summertime because of the fresh ingredients that are use to prepare it.

3. Tabbouleh (Lebanon and Syria)

Tabouli salad or Tabbouleh is a simple classic vegetarian salad made with crisp cucumbers, parsley, sweet tomatoes, briny olives and bulgur wheat, all tossed with salt and pepper, lime juice and olive oil.

4. Solterito (Peru)

From the region of Arequipa, Peru, this salad consists of potatoes, coriander, onion, rocoto chili pepper, fava beans, corn and quesillo cheese. The ingredients are uniformly diced and bound in olive oil.

5. Sheildzini (Japan)

Sheildzini is a Japanese cucumber salad made of cucumber, white sugar, rice wine vinegar, and soy sauce. It Is always best to serve this salad fresh as cucumber becomes soggy.

6. Nicoise salad (France)

Nicoise salad originated in the French city of Nice and is made of potatoes, tuna, green beans, Nicoise olives, anchovies, hard-boiled eggs and dressed with olive oil. Raw vegetables are used in preparing this salad.

7. Horiatiki (Greece)

It is a traditional Greek salad often called ‘village salad” that includes red onions, green bell peppers, ripe tomato, cucumbers, Kalamata olives and Feta cheese. It is seasoned with dried oregano, salt, extra virgin olive oil and a splash of red wine vinegar.

8. Gado-Gado (Indonesia)

In Indonesia the term ‘gado-gado’ literally means ‘mix-mix’. It is made with a lot of exotic ingredients like tempeh, potatoes, corn, hard-boiled eggs, string beans, chayote, tofu and cabbage, all of which are glazed with peanut butter dressing.

This celebratory feast is a traditional Guatemalan dish that is cooked and eaten every year to celebrate the Day of Death. This salad is served cold and can be made of up to 50 ingredients including sausages, cold cuts, pickled baby corn, leetuce, hot peppers, onion, beets, pacaya flower, cheeses, olives, and chicken.

10. Dressed Herring Salad (Russia)

It is a layered salad which is made of boiled vegetables like potatoes, beet roots and carrots, chopped onions and mayonnaise, along with a layer of freshly grated apple. Grated beetroot covered with mayonnaise serves as the last layer. It is often garnished with boiled eggs.

Cobb salad is an American delicacy, prepared using grilled or boiled chicken, chives, vinaigrette, fried bacon, avocado, cheese and eggs. It is believed that this dish was created at Hollywood Brown Derby restaurant owned by Robert Howard Cobb and later became a signature dish of the restaurant.
